Honeywell and Cessna continue to grow their prosperous relationship

Honeywell’s UOP declared the third technology license for its innovation methanol-to-olefins technology, which changes methanol from coal into key plastic building blocks. China’s Shandong Yangmei Hengtong Chemicals Co. Ltd. will use Honeywell UOP’s innovative MTO process, which syndicates Honeywell’s UOP and Hydro MTO process and the Total Petrochemicals and UOP Olefin Cracking process to change methanol from gasified coal into ethylene and propylene, which are building block materials used in the manufacture of films, packaging, plastics and other petrochemicals. They have also been given a follow-on five year contract, worth one hundred and eighty one million dollars, from the U.S. Navy’s Naval Supply Systems Command and Weapon Systems Support. Cessna Aircraft Co. has chosen Honeywell to offer the most innovative ecological control systems, business-leading LASEREF navigation and state-of-the-art power supply systems for the new Cessna Citation Latitude and Cessna Citation Longitude aircraft.

The new business is estimated to be worth up to eight hundred million dollars over the life of the program and builds upon Honeywell’s current 30-year association with Cessna. In addition, Eni S.p.A., Italy’s biggest energy company, will create Green Diesel using the UOP/Eni Ecofining development from Honeywell’s UOP at its facility in Venice.  This development symbolizes the first time that a process unit creating petroleum-based fuel will be changed into a unit to create biofuel.
