Airbus Helicopter to Deliver EC145 T2 Helicopters to Royal Thai Army

The announcement which took place on February 23^rd promises the supply of six EC145 T2 Helicopters with a VIP installation, used primarily for missions involving transporting official passengers.

The EC145 T2 has been acquired under the Royal Thai Army’s light-utility helicopter type II requirement. It is their newest model and the most powerful one to date.

Airbus Helicopters South East Asia & Pacific Region head Philippe Monteux said: "By acquiring the EC145 T2, the Royal Thai Army again demonstrates its confidence in Airbus Helicopters' products and services, following the successful entry into service of the AS550 C3 armed reconnaissance helicopters in 2014 and the imminent delivery of the UH-72A Lakota light-utility helicopters from the US."

The helicopter is able to perform a variety of military operations, including - but not limited to - transportation, reconnaissance, search and rescue, fire support, and evacuation of wounded soldiers in hazardous weather conditions.

The EC145 T2 has a digital cockpit, four-axis autopilot, a maximum take-off weight of 3.65 tons and twin Turbomeca Arriel 2E engines with dual-channel full authority digital engine controls. Airbus Helicopters Fenestron shrouded tail rotor guarantees operational safety during takeoff or landing in confined sites and when loading or unloading on the ground with the rotor still running.

The helicopter is a versatile multi-role helicopter with designed-in mission capability and flexibility. Some specifications of the model include:
