Cessna Launches New Citation Hemisphere Jet

Textron Aviation is expanding its product line. At this year’s National Business Aviation Association Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada, Textron announced the newest member of the Cessna Citation family, the Citation Hemisphere. The new Citation Hemisphere is the biggest and longest-range Citation jet. It is expected to take its first flight in 2019.

When deciding on what was next for Cessna, Textron Aviation President and CEO Scott Ernest took into account customer feedback. He stated,

“As we looked at that market, we originally announced the Latitude and Longitude, then we stood back and got a lot more customer feedback. Hey, we’ve got to belly up here and do something different.”

It is designed to have low operating costs but still maintain class-leading operational performance. The large cabin jet is expected to cost between $30 million and $33 million. Their intent is to break into the market with a larger cabin and longer-range aircraft, demonstrating that this new aircraft is designed to transform this segment by offering their customers the latest technology and widest cabin in its class.

• Clean Sheet Design
• Flat Floor
