Boeing recently announced an $8 billion deal with EVA Airways in which the Taiwanese airline intends to purchase up to twenty wide-body airplanes. These wide-body airplanes that EVA Airways intends to use include the 787-10 and the 777-300ER. The deal consists of 24 of the 787-10s and 2 of the 777-300ERs. The 787-10 is one of the newest members of the 787 Dreamliner family. EVA Airways will be one of the first airlines to introduce the 787-10. Boeing has recently signed a ten-year contract with United Airlines to support its fleet of 787 Dreamliners with a stream of components. Boeing announced that the company has finalized a deal with five Japanese partners to supply components for the new 777X aircraft. The deal tails a memorandum of agreement (MoA) between Boeing, Japan Aircraft Industries (JAI), and Japan Aircraft Development Corporation (JADC) to deliver approximately 21% of the major aircraft structure components. Components that are covered under the contract include fuselage sections, center wing sections, pressure bulkhead, main landing gear wells, passenger, cargo and main landing gear doors, wing components, and wing-body fairings. Boeing is planning to lower their 747-8 jumbo aircraft production to only one per month due to the decrease in demand for the aircraft. Planned to begin early 2016, the reduction follows the current decrease in production of the 747 family from and output of 1.5 aircraft to 1.3 aircraft in September. Boeing has begun production of its first single-aisle 737 MAX flight test aircraft, as they have started to assemble the wings at its facility in Renton, Washington.
