This new advanced research center will act as the region hub for Boeing’s collaborative technology development that will assist academic institutions and research partners in system technology. Boeing recently announced an $8 billion deal with EVA Airways in which the Taiwanese airline intends to purchase up to twenty wide-body airplanes. These wide-body airplanes that EVA Airways intends to use include the 787-10 and the 777-300ER. The deal consists of 24 of the 787-10s and 2 of the 777-300ERs. The 787-10 is one of the newest members of the 787 Dreamliner family. EVA Airways will be one of the first airlines to introduce the 787-10. Ireland-based helicopter leasing company Waypoint Leasing has agreed to purchase up to 20 twin-engine H135 helicopters from Airbus Helicopters, a division of Airbus, over the next three years. The agreement covers the purchase of up to 20 twin-engine H135 helicopters. Waypoint will primarily lease the H135s to operators performing EMS missions worldwide. The H135 helicopters have a flexible configuration and are capable of performing multi-roles. They are also able perform other public services such as law enforcement, rescue, and offshore operations. H135 is a multi-purpose aircraft that can be used in several missions such as EMS or police tasks, even in difficult weather conditions and terrains. Read more >>

Although Airbus just released its first A350-900 model last year, they are already moving forward with plans to produce the A350-1000 model. The new A350-1000 is nearly 7 meters longer than A350-900, and its wings also feature an extended trailing edge. Beginning in 2019, Airbus will start delivering its brand new A321neo to customers around the world. Billed as the largest single aisle jet liner on the market, the A321neo is a vast improvement upon the already popular Airbus A321. Improvements seen in the A321neo include two engine options, a 20% increase in fuel efficiency, and 900km of additional flight range. These improvements will allow the A321neo to complete transatlantic passenger flights, which has essentially been impossible until now. Also, the A321neo will see the introduction of “Cabin-Flex” features which optimize cabin space and comfortably increase the seating capacity from 180 passengers to 240. Read more >>

Plans for Airbus Group SE to deliver 4 A380 superjumbos to Transaero Airlines have been further delayed. The contract which was structured to help the No. 2 Russian carrier cope with slowing travel demands in its home market will have to be put on ice for the time being. Transaero is buying four A380s, initially slated for delivery from this year.
